Bodywork
Bodywork To Relieve Tension
Therapeutic massage and guided stretches are forms of bodywork used to decrease and eliminate fascial adhesions. Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds organs and internal structures of the body. Restrictions from fascia may occur due to overuse, structural imbalance, lack of movement and physical/emotional trauma. Fascia can bind in a manner similar to the way an external wound is wrapped in gauze. Fascial restrictions can be responsible for referred pain, nerve impingement and structural misalignment.
Reducing stress through deep relaxation is a profound and nurturing effect of intentional healing touch. In an atmosphere of serenity and non-judgement we may enhance our ability to surrender into a state of relaxation, meditation and affirmation. A holistic effect of bodywork is the decreased dichotomy between body, mind and spirit.
